It’s been like 4 months since i last updated my blog. Now that i remembered Sunny telling me to update, which was like 1 month ago? I’m finally in to do some typing.
So, I’ve been working as a project coordinator full-time since July, at this events and advertising company. It does events and projects setups, festive decorations, and street ligthings, etc. Shopping centres are the main clients.
Pretty nice job?
Yea i agree, being able to learn alot of things and the satisfactory feeling you get after seeing the event a success. You will feel happy, because many people will get to see your work.
Glamorous?
It’s not as it seems. The hard work and time commitment you need to put in is… ALOT. Long hours of working, on weekends or public holidays, sleepless nights, setups from dusk till dawn. I also need to be on standby, in case something crops up and got to settle it immediately. Basically, my own personal time has been reduced.
Well, I’m still alive and hanging through. But damn, I’m underpaid. They said they would do an increment soon, but when? no specific period was given, they could actually be pulling me along and “out to eat me”. I hope they will fulfill their promise asap.
Then, I started studying at SIM part-time. Mass communication by RMIT. I agree with the known fact that working and studying simultaneously is tiring. That’s bcos my bloody job is taking too much time and it is sometimes making me distracted in studies. Worse come to worst, I might have to quit this job, cos i give my studies more priority.
It’s the peak season of work now, with all the Christmas projects and ad-hoc events. That means, giving up more personal time. Sigh. It will last until Chinese New Year is over. Gotta’ stay positive.
don’t worry bro! time will pass quickly and i believe you will somehow find time to juggle studies and work both at the same time! tkcare and i miss you guys lots!
